Jason & The Scorchers “singlehandedly rewrote the history of rock ’n roll in the South” according to Rolling Stone. Their instinctive ability to combine traditional country music with high-energy punk rock has not been surpassed to this day and they are considered the quintessential pioneering act of the “Cowpunk” genre.
In 2008, Jason & The Scorchers were honored with the Americana Music Association’s Lifetime Achievement Award for Performance. Since then, Jason Ringenberg - aptly named “Godfather of Americana” by Mojo Magazine - has released five solo albums with favorable critical acclaim. Jason’s high-octane one man show prompted The Times UK to call him, “one of the most exciting performers of his generation.” His latest album STAND TALL was released in 2019 and he has been touring solo across the US to support it.
In 2019, Ringenberg also joined the Cosmic Honky Tonk Revue, which includes lauded songwriters/artists Chuck Mead (of BR549) and Jim Lauderdale. The core elements of this show highlight three artists at the forefront of pioneering the Rockabilly, Cowpunk, Alt-Country, Roots and Classic Country genres that collectively encompass the current neo-traditional country movement.
