D Boone Pittman and the Fugitives

FREE

D Boone Pittman is a singer/songwriter/musician and performer who currently resides in the Lawrenceburg, KY area. This places him strategically between the two biggest musical hotspots in KY., Louisville and Lexington. He has been playing and singing since he was just a little boy. When he was 5, he sang his first gig in Stanton, KY and was shocked when the grownups started handing him money to sing some more. When he was 6 years old, his mom took him to see Johnny Cash in Dayton, Ohio. He knew from that moment on that he was meant to make music. His Dad owned an old Martin D-28, and he learned to play the first few chords in his bedroom. The first song he learned was The Wildwood Flower. He grew up listening to his parent’s turntable which was always on playing everything from 50s rock to outlaw country. The Beatles were a big early influence, and triggered in him a deep appreciation for songwriting with lyrical depth. This led him to follow acts like Springsteen, Steve Earle, Tom Petty, and presently Jason Isbell. You can expect to hear him play a selection from each of these and more Americana/Country artists at one of his live performances. D’s style of music is a heavy dose of country rock with an edginess to it.

His first release, Bluegrass American Dream is scheduled to be launched May 10, 2019. Bluegrass American Dream contains a collection of original compositions that capture life in KY as well as some tunes he has written over the years that were never recorded. The advanced single, Furnace Mountain is getting released Feb 14, 2019. He will be playing solo acoustic performances to promote the album in the central KY area all through 2019. He will also be playing a few select nights with a full band on its release.
