Armchair Boogie, Fireside Collective

$20.00

Armchair Boogie has been ramblin’ since 2015 when Augie Dougherty (banjo, vocals) and Ben Majeska (guitar, vocals) collided in a fiery crash of modern bluegrass glory. With the rhythmic addition of Eli Frieders (bass) and Denzel Connor (drums), the Boogie Boys took their current funky form.

The band fuses traditional bluegrass instrumentation with well-structured lyrics and the modern jam-band groove that keeps their fans moving throughout every show. The Boogie Boys have shared the stage with many contemporaries, such as Yonder Mountain String Band, Pigeons Playing Ping Pong, The Infamous Stringdusters, Horseshoes and Hand Grenades, The Dead South, Kitchen Dwellers, Pert Near Sandstone, and have jammed with many more.

Quite a few notable entities have called Stevens Point, Wisconsin their home, such as: the world’s largest trivia contest, the majestic Schmeeckle Reserve, and first-class American cricketer Ian Holland. However, among the notability resides an entity that stands taller and grooves harder than the rest: Armchair Boogie.

The up-tempo, funkgrass quartet started in 2015 when Augie Dougherty (banjo, vocals) and Ben Majeska (guitar, vocals) collided in a fiery crash of modern bluegrass glory. With the rhythmic addition of Eli Frieders (bass) and Denzel Connor (drums), the Boogie Boys took their current funky form.

After moving just a couple hours South to Madison, WI in 2018, the band put together their self-titled debut album, rich with deep grooves, grassy jams, and well-structured lyrics. A nationwide tour following the release of the album brought their music to life, building a loyal fanbase that would come to support their sophomore album, “What Does Time Care?" (2019).

Be sure to check out Armchair Boogie’s latest release, “The Western EP” (2021), which shows a side of the band’s music that travels from Appalachia and sets its roots in the dry valleys of the Southwest.
