The Phillips Brothers

Way back in the 8os & 9os, there was a Cleveland area band called Rotary Ten, a young foursome who wanted to sound like R.E.M. but didn't have any guitars. They gigged during breaks from school, got some college radio love, and put out cassettes. Then they moved to other places, stayed together, broke up, and got old. All the while, the brothers at the heart of the band (Dan & Scott Phillips) never stopped writing & singing songs. For many years now, Dan has been Zapruder Point in Cincinnati, and Scott has been The Monologue Bombs in Raleigh. During the pandemic, the two started an online Song Swap Concern, a loose and sporadically scheduled event that finds them swapping short sets of originals and covers, going off on tangents, and getting heckled in the comments section. They play out live on rare occasions, too, with the same loose brotherly abandon.
