Damsel and Distress
Damsel and Distress
Strikingly unique, Damsel and Distress has a passionate sound that resonates with the most emotionally charged parts of our lives. Alisha Gatchel and Chris Dunkley’s distinctive pop/soul sound draws from their insatiable drive for creating music that can be both felt and heard. Alisha and Chris continue to write in anticipation of a release later this year.
Matt Schneider
Matt Schneider
Matt Schneider is a Pop & Blues Singer/Songwriter from Cincinnati, OH. He grew up the youngest of four kids and found a love of music when he got his first guitar at age nine. The music soon became the center of Matt’s world, and he started working his way onto any stage he could. At the age of fifteen Matt began his professional career alongside a multitude of musicians in Hilton Head, SC during family vacations.

Within the next few years, Matt found a love of writing and proceeded to write his first self-titled EP that was released in 2013.

Things continued to develop, and by the time Matt had reached the end of his high school career he was playing out every weekend throughout the Mid-West at venues like the Cleveland House of Blues and the Cintas Center as well as at local festivals like the Taste of Blueash alongside acts like Third Eye Blind and Toto.

With the help of his parents, family, and friends Matt went to Nashville, TN. to record his first full band EP “Wake Up” at Omni Sound Studios. To go along with the new EP, Matt and his team went back to where it all began on Hilton Head Island to shoot his first music video for the title track “Wake Up”.

With new encouragement from a growing fan base, Matt returned to Nashville the following year to record his second full band EP “Easier Said Than Done”. Following it’s release, and only five years into his professional career Matt was invited to play the famous Bluebird Cafe alongside some of Nashville’s finest songwriters.

Now Matt is in the studio recording his first full-length debut album set to be released within the next year while also touring through the Mid-West and other parts of the country while attending college at Xavier University.
Chandler Carter
Chandler Carter
From birth, Chandler Carter was never a quiet child, (her first word was “light”). Throughout grade school and part of high school, Chandler was an avid soccer player. By the time she was a sophomore in high school, she had decided to start taking singing seriously. Ever since, she has been taking the Midwest by storm.

In 2012, Chandler auditioned for NBC’s the voice. Having made it past the first three audition rounds, she was cut, but, nonetheless, Chandler states that: “My experience I had auditioning for The Voice gave me the confidence I needed to really put myself out there and share my talents. At first, I was only sharing my talent with a few select friends, but after my audition, I was pumped and I wanted everyone to hear me sing!”

Chandler took her first step in showing her talent to the world via the internet. She entered Nick Cooper’s online talent search via Talenthouse, and was awarded Handpicked Finalist. Commenting on this accomplishment: “My first real online exposure was through Nick Cooper’s contest. In order to win and gain recognition within it (the contest), you had to have people vote for you; so I took to Facebook and Twitter to share the links.“ In 2012, Chandler released her first single, the anti-bullying anthem, Go Easy.

Following shortly after, Chandler released her second single, Can’t Stop. Can’t Stop climbed to significant heights, specifically in Italy. Chandler reached #1 on Rockstar Motel’s Top Independent Artists chart, (which included Adele at #2 and Ryan Beatty in the third spot), and #3 on Rockstar Motel’s Top Independent Songs chart. In 2013, Chandler released her third single, Moonlight. “Listening to my first two songs and then listening to Moonlight, there’s somewhat of a growth and maturation from pop to more of a soulful style. I’m starting to evolve and really discover my voice, and find MY sound. I’m falling into who I want to be as an artist and it’s such an amazing experience.”
