A loud and fast Midwestern duo playing music inspired by surf, country, blues, and rock&roll while still waiving our punk rock flag high!
Dissonance & Dissent is a political ska-punk band from West Lafayette, Indiana. Finding themselves in ever shrinking scene/genre, the group tries to keep the spirit of punk, skacore, and ska alive, while also branding it with their own unique stamp. With politically charged lyrics, the angst, speed and aggression of punk, the catchiness of ska, and a high level of musical complexity rare in both punk and ska, the band hopes to leave their mark with the music they create; Wishing to not only influence and help re-spark the genres and local music scene, but also promote social and political awareness.
We played off and on for several years together, until finally focusing, on putting together a project that we intended to record.
