Grief Counseling
Grief Counseling originaly started as a solo project of David Howel (ex Short Cycle, ex Hemlock Branch, ex Vanity Creeps, ex White Wals, ex Siblings). The EP "When the Leech Bites" was recorded at Todd Uttley's Fuzzy Eyed Studio and launched in 2022. In 2024, Grief Counseling grew into a ful band with the addition of friends and prior band mates, Robert Lopez (ex Siblings), Scott Simpson (ex Opium Doom Cult, ex Hemlock Branch, ex Beneath Oblivion), and Justin Stapleton (ex Short Cycle, ex Coelacanth). Embracing a “bigger” sound, Grief Counseling quickly started playing new songs and shows together and recorded their 1st full-length record “grief counseling”. With Uttley at the helm once again (who handled recording, engineering, producing and mixing duties), the band also incorporated Anna Bentley who mastered the LP. “grief counseling”. Released on vinyl, CD, and digital/streaming in late 2025.
In June of 2026, Grief Counseling entered Fuzzy Eyed Studio again, completing all basic tracking to a follow-up release in a single day! The release titled "City of Pigs," will be available for listening sometime in late 2026. In 2027, the band intends to play as many shows, and festivals as possible to promote their two full-length releases.
