From the Rust Belt of the American Midwest, David Faul writes songs with true honesty and authenticity.  “Townes meets Ohio River heartbreak.” A Cincinnati-based multi-instrumentalist (guitar, piano, harmonica), Faul delivers deeply personal songwriting rooted in family, love, loss, and addiction/recovery. His first full length studio album, What The Mus Chose To Afford, recorded and Produced by J. Tom Hnatow at Small Blue Studio in Lexington, KY,  is planned for release September 4, 2026.

Faul has toured as a pianist with Arlo McKinley and the Lonesome Sound, sharing the stage with artists including Tyler Childers, Billy Strings, John Prine, John Moreland and The Milk Carton Kids. His performances balance raw honesty with musical maturity, pairing plainspoken lyric storytelling in arrangements that move beyond traditional country, folk and bluegrass.

A true songwriter’s songwriter, Faul draws influence from John Prine, Townes Van Zandt, Randy Newman, Bob Dylan, and John Fullbright.
